Woden Business Showcase 

The Woden Business Showcase, an initiative of the ACT Government, took place on Friday the 4th and Saturday the 5th October.  The showcase aimed to connect local businesses and organisations with their local community.  With plenty of opportunities for everyone to get involved, including:

Friday 4 October: Business Education and Skill Development

A series of business education and skill development workshops, including:

Innovation in Business 

Innovation is crucial in your business. Presented by the Canberra Innovation Network, it provided practical techniques to evolve your business cheaply and efficiently. Participants were shown key ways to implement innovation to become a high-growth high-impact business.

Participants were asked to consider:

  • How do you differentiate yourself from your competitors?
  • Introducing new products?
  • Reaching new customers and networks?

Participants heard from Dr Craig Davis, an entrepreneur, angel investor, founder of GRIFFIN Accelerator and General Manager of the Growth Programs at the Canberra Innovation Network along with Irene Zhen, entrepreneur, mentor and Growth Associate at the Canberra Innovation Network.

Saturday 5 October 12pm-3pm: Community Picnic

In conjunction with Floriade in the Suburbs, there was a community picnic in the Woden Experiment (Woden Town Square) with opportunities for Woden residents to enjoy a taste of Floriade; engage with some of the community organisations and businesses located in the area; and enjoy food and entertainment for the whole family.
